Queen Village Townhouse

A prototypical Philadelphia rowhome on the exterior, this residence reveals a richly layered and highly curated interior beyond its front door. Finishes throughout reflect a refined sense of elegance, including rosewood millwork, custom furnishings, grasscloth-lined walls, hand-blocked linen drapery, and hand-blown glass lighting. The palette and overall aesthetic were inspired by the clients’ existing art collection, with new acquisitions thoughtfully integrated along the way. As Michael often notes, when it comes to art, there is always room for more. Designed for clients who are passionate cooks, the kitchen balances beauty and functionality in equal measure. Custom millwork ensures every inch serves a purpose—most notably, a deep-set window sill reimagined as a pull-out spice rack. The space is anchored by a sophisticated interplay of materials, including warm woods, layered metals, laminate, porcelain, and solid surfaces. An industrial-inspired sculptural pendant and bronze-dipped wall sconces provide the final distinctive touches, transforming the kitchen into a true jewel box within the home.
